Facts about kissing

  • "Kiss” is from the Old English cyssan from the proto-Germanic kussijanan or kuss, which is probably based on the sound kissing can make.
  • A woman in China partially lost her hearing after her boyfriend reportedly ruptured her eardrum with a passionate kiss. Apparently, the kiss reduced the pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out, and caused the breakdown of the ear.
  • The science of kissing is called philematology
  • The insulting slang “kiss my ass” dates back at least to 1705.
  • Lips are 100 times more sensitive than the tips of the fingers. Not even genitals have as much sensitivity as lips.
  • Approximately two-thirds of people tip their head to the right when they kiss. Some scholars speculate this preference starts in the womb.
  • On July 5-6, 2005 a couple in London locked lips for 31 hours, 30 minutes, and 30 seconds, making it the longest kiss ever recorded.

  1. More than 100 million animals are poisoned, burned, crippled, and abused in other ways in U.S. labs each year.

  2. No experiment is illegal, no matter how cruel, irrelevant to human health, redundant, or painful.

  3. Ninety five percent of animals used for experiments are excluded from the only federal law offering any sort of protection.

  4. Even when valid alternatives to animals are available, the law doesn't require that they be used.

  5. Ninety two percent of experimental drugs that are safe and effective in animals fail in human clinical trials because they don't work or are dangerous.

1. The organization Environmental Defense says that U.S. cars and trucks emit 314 metric tons of CO2 every year, and -- in case you were wondering -- that's equivalent to burning as much coal as would fit in a 50,000 mile long freight train.

2.On average there are 27 oil spills every day somewhere in the waters of the worlds, and the Valdez spill doesn't even make the list of the top 30 all-time largest.

3. The American Petroleum Institute (API) tells us that if the government would lift those silly environmental restrictions and allow the petrol industry to drill everywhere, there's enough oil right here in the U.S. to fuel 60 million cars and trucks for 60 years.

4.According to an Associated Press article, American kids between the ages of 12 and 19 now spend about $179 billion annually. That translates into more than $100 per teen per week.

5.According to the U.S. EPA, Americans spend $25 billion a year on lawn care. Residential lawns and gardens are doused with 80 million pounds of chemical pesticides and 70 million tons of fertilizers annually.

 6.According to the Harvard Center of Risk Analysis, more than 2,500 deaths and 330,000+ injuries every year in the U.S. are caused by the use of cell phones (both handheld and hands-free phones) while driving. Yet only six states prohibit the use of cell phones while driving, and that only applies to hand-held phones; no state currently prohibits the use of hands-free phones.

The current challenges faced by People in Indian

According to a recently conducted survey, it was found that the 42% of the world's poor live in India. That's over 450 million people living below the international poverty line of $1.25 a day, according to the World Bank. This indeed is a shocking news,as the Indian government is launching many policies each year to overcome this problem and provide employment, provide free education to the children whose patients are unable to afford the study expenses of their child, launching free medical facility to the poor people in villages, in slum areas e.t.c but yet Indian government is unable to overcome these problems. Why is it so?The reason is still unknown to us.
